'Relate Licensed' means

From the Relate website:

"Relate Counsellors working under license provide relationship counselling and other services from their own private practice in areas not covered by Relate Centres. Licensed counsellors adhere to the professional standards laid down by the national Relate charity and are supervised by Relate approved personnel to national standards. These counsellors set their own fees for counselling."

I work using the same methods, theories and practice approaches that I and 100's of other Relate practitioner's use across the country. My practice is supervised by a Relate registered supervisor and subject to the same standards that Relate requires nationally.

I am a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), one of the leading organisations in bringing professional standards to the industry. I will have copies of training certificates with me in sessions you can ask to check.

Confirming professional credentials:
I am always delighted when prospective clients ask to verify my training and accreditation status. It is important and should be taken seriously. A psychotherapy training takes many years and is costly and most practitioners will be delighted that you take an interest. The following may help you.
